Map Creation (so far) 2

So, I tried my best to make the necessary changes given during critique, as well as move forward with the actual layout itself. I implemented the illustrations I did. I’m thinking I might add some sort of worn paper texture to the ‘land’ area of the map to counteract the intensity and detail of the illustrations. Any advice or ideas would be great!

Map Creation (So far)

Please ignore the fact the icons aren’t on the actual map itself yet. I’ve been struggling to find a way to integrate them, so I plan on having an extra page, where each number correlates to that specific illustration. However, I did choose a color scheme, which I’m pretty happy with, and start to digitize the layout. I also managed to do two flower illustrations. I’ll be refining them a bit more, but this is what I have so far.

Sketches for Infographics

Here are my sketches for the infographics assignment! I was quite happy with the idea. I chose to gather data on my own ADHD. It was worse when I was younger, but throughout the day, I experience impulses that are shown through my work ethic, daily conversation, and interactions. So far, in my collection of data, I’ve realized my ADHD is worse in the morning to the afternoon and lessens into the day.

Help, please

Hi, everyone! So I’m definitely in a pickle right now. I feel like I’ve kind of come to a wall, not really knowing what to do with my project. I keep looking the title, the table of contents, and the layouts over and over again, but I don’t know how to go about revising them further. I’m struggling to see what I should change to make them any better.

Any feedback would be extremely helpful. All I know is that I want my font book to have a radial theme and a crisp, clean layout otherwise. I do have a grid system, but one side of the spread is just a bit different from the other. Also, if anyone has a better title suggestion, I’m all ears!

Assignment 5 Process

Thus far, I’ve developed a few layouts and did some research.

I wanted to go with a wider layout, utilizing the horizontal length rather than vertical.
I contemplated on a circular or oval shaped book, but it’s just a consideration.
Though this isn’t my favorite layout, the idea of a radial illustration sitting on the binding of the book appealed to me.

Paragraph Iterations

Any suggestions, critiques, or even advice on this project will be extremely helpful. I find myself struggling with this project like the first assignment, so anything, and I mean anything is helpful in the long run!

I jumped around in this iteration process. I went back to my very first iteration and tweaked it a bit half way through, trying out small things just to see how it’d affect the overall composition. The last three were a process of me finding an idea I liked. Each sentence is meant to be interlocking with the other, eluding to how the paragraph describes the relationship of the human ear and human voice. “Forming one complete organ”. If anyone has any suggestions on how I might be able to build on some of these iterations, please let me know. Even simply saying which you like most is helpful! Thank you!

Final Draft Thumbnails

I tried to brainstorm a bit in my sketchbook after thinking about some of the feedback I got from class. I started to find a shape/composition/flow I really liked, so I did just a few tests with it!

My least favorite is the middle one, but I liked how the other two turned out! If anyone has any feedback as to how I should move forward, that would be greatly appreciated!
